Boomkat Product Review:
Promising to be a valuable addition to the span of reggae reissue labels out there, focussing on early dancehall, Roots have hooked up with Jah Thomas' Midnight Rock label to bring this classic early piece of rub-a-dub style back into our open arms and ears. after cutting his teeth at Gemini, and actually most all of the major soundsystems: King Stereograph, Killamanjaro and Burning Spear, Tapetwon, Soul Imperial and then crucially King Jammy's. Early successes with GG Allin enabled this self-produced album and its wickedly saucy lick "Cricket lovely cricket" to achieve deserved yard success. MIxed by Scientist amongst others, Roots Radics band in session, recorded at and edited by King Tubbys - classic!
