Boomkat Product Review:
*12 track cd plus a bonus MP3 Disc with 3 DJ mixes coming it at over 4 hours length in total* Curle's 25th release is a gargantuan compilation including three DJ mixes and 12 of the labels best tracks. After four years of celebrated releases like Efedemin's sublime 'Carry On, Pretend We're Not In The Room' mix, Martyn's 'Acid Bells' remixes and simply great music from the cream of the house and techno crop, Curle have posited themselves at the forefront of modern dance music. The proof is loaded in this heavy pud, from Efdemin's original mixes of the aforementioned Martyn versions, to Thomas Brinkmann's slick excursion as Soul Center and his classic 'Isch' reissue or Tampopo's trippy but driving 'Helicopters Got Cameras', all marking the label as carefully curated and worthy of the praise heaped upon it. Probably the best part of tis package however, are the three mixes from Anthony Collins, label head Fader and Peter Van Hoesen. Each selector draws from the label (and associated sublabels) well of material, both well known and unreleased to articulate their definition of the label, with PvH going the extra mile to present specially edited version of each track to fit his vision. Bumper.
