Boomkat Product Review:
The Hague's prolific producer of retro-fitted nEuro Techno-House presents his latest chapter of pulpy sonic fiction thru Creme Organization. Currently riding another crest of popularity, we find Legowelt at his most engaging and spaced-out over 12 tracks of fluent analogue storytelling couched in the atmospheres and mystery of classic sci-fi, film noir and dark, pumping basements. Let's be fair, it's nowt new, but Wolfers' has refined his art to something beyond criticism over lack of "newness"; taken for what it's meant to be, his 'Crystal Cult 2080' is a flawlessly dark dream sequence of dancefloor romance and chicanery. This time he's aided by vocals from his Xamiga partner, Sheela Rahman aka Xosar, on a number of tracks, but his layered synths and pulsing, throbbing machine rhythms are the real focal point, twisting the lines between original Chicago, Detroit and UK AI styles with an alchemist's sensitivity and bardic eloquence.
