Boomkat Product Review:
Back to our beloved singles series and, shit, have we fallen in love with these tracks!! Those of you out there who know and love the brothers Conner and their devestating releases under the Bitstream moniker will be accustomed to a kind of deep, cut-up, evocative electroid mayhem that has never been copied, matched or equalled anytime anywhere. This follows the brothers on a night off, away from the clubs and dark rooms.....into something a little bit more special. A-side track ‘Crab Nebula’ finds us in a deep, blue, Aphexish multitextured world of analogue tunes and sizzled beats, a kind of naïve fusion of warm synths and hammered beats that just grow and grow. We might be wrong, but it really does feel like electronica is so rarely this precious! Onto the flip and the majestic ‘Stream One’ (a short edit of this track appeared on the mighty ‘Retreat Pod 12”) flowers into something altogether different. Organic, spacious beats sweep in along a seashore of aquatic flavours, a melodyline that can only, truly be described as CLASSIC joining in for an effecting, moving flawless electronic pop song. Truly, sincerely, unapologetically.....perfect.
