Boomkat Product Review:
Following on from 2004's Epics In Minutes, this album is a compilation of Toronto band Fucked Up's 7" and 12" tracks. Couple Tracks stretches from the band's very first A-side, 'No Pasaran' (originally released in 2002 via Deranged) to their most recent single release, 'No Epiphany' (which is presented here in an alternate version). In between you'll find all manner of rarities: 'Fixed Race' previously appeared on the Spanish version of Dangerous Fumes, while 'Toronto FC' cropped up on the Hard Skin split 7" that was exclusively given away at a London show in 2007. Similarly there are cover versions of songs from twee-pop scenesters The Shop Assistants, Another Sunny Day and Dolly Mixture which appeared on self-released 7"s that were handed out at a Toronto show in 2006. Consequently, unless you're a Fucked Up uber-geek of the highest order there's bound to be plenty here you won't have come across before, something underlined by the fact that on top of all the rarities there are five unreleased tracks and the whole collection has been remastered.
