Boomkat Product Review:
The Commenti Musicali archive coughs up more late ’80s Italian Library Music beauties in Spaziali 1 - Suoni Dal Futuro (musiche per la scienza e per la tecnica), which, as the title suggests is centred on techy digital electro-ambient and alien kosmiche themes.
This stuff is right up our dark alley; revolving ten crystalline dimensions of evocative themes as used in Italian sci-fi, thrillers and the like consistent with that era’s technological phase shifts.
They range from Tangerine Dream-ing optimism in Viaggio Nell’Universo thru to a night-gliding arpeggio mission with Stelle Sconoscuite and even ambient noise in the very Aliens soundtrack stylings of Presence Aliene, via the digital Goblin atmospheres of Mondi Di Ghiaccio, and at its darkest angle, a pitch black trench of ambient terror and romantic redemption in Pianaeti Del Mistero.
Seriously, it getting to be like there’s only so much Macchi a young man can take. This and the other two volumes are totally prime, though.
