Boomkat Product Review:
This digital release throws back to 2006, when a host of microhouse luminaries convened to remix the previous year's full-length effort from Dapayk & Padberg, the electronic pop duo of Niklas Worgt and model turned singer Eva Padberg. Falko Brockspier is first out of the blocks, establishing a minimal, swinging template for 'Close Up'. Lump draws on a dubbier, crunching aesthetic that still manages to maintain a defined melodic narrative, leaving the vocal track, however effected and processed, at the heart of the song. Someone Else's 'Fishin' For Your Love' overhaul is an altogether more obliterated interpretation of the text, hiccupping enthusiastically throughout. Finally, Marcel Knopf (isn't he in Dire Straits?) starts shredding his way through 'Use Your Arms' with a surgical precision, setting off peculiar, springy drum patterns in the teasing opening phases before eventually delivering a more solid beat to carry you through to the finish.
