Boomkat Product Review:
Markus Müllers follows two releases for Berlin’s Festplatten with his debut ep “chives“ for Traum, and exhibits a sleight change of style. Socialised through club experiences in Frankfurt, Müller manages to add a variety to Traum’s music that only Process has tackled before. Both tracks act more rhythmically and consist of funk from head to toe – this is all good groove baby and deep house feeling, beats rotate and the bass drums hop. “Chives“ draws deep from latin influences, “beau mot plage” from Isolee came to mind, as the track fascinates with its complex melodic behaviour but still incriminates you with a very catchy tune. Flip for a reduced rhythm track “chop“ a dj tool which rocks. Nice.
