Boomkat Product Review:
The first taste of synth don Alessandro Cortini's new album "SCURO CHIARO" is a simmering, cinematic, analog epic.
Cortini has never been afraid of wearing his emotions on his sleeve, and on 'Chiaroscuro' the triumphant, nostalgic melancholy that's underpinned his last few albums has been brought into the sunlight. With the overdriven power of Lawrence English's "Cruel Optimism", the euphoric build-up of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor record and the memorable simplicity of a vintage videogame soundtrack (think "Ico"), 'Chiaroscuro' pushes a lot of familiar buttons, but does so with added spatial dexterity.
