Boomkat Product Review:
Zomby parses his HD for old gold in the 2nd in a volley of archival disclosures on Warehouse Rave label
From deep, hair-kissing swangers to bolshy rolige and hollowed-out dubstep, this lot frames the UK bassbin botherer at his brooding best. He serves electroid night vision finesse with the minor key strings and plush bass curve of ‘Another e McGhee’, beside a trancing sort of UKG mutation ‘Indigo’, and more Burial-esque 2-step variant ‘Achilles’. At its deepest apex, ‘Xtc2’ dials up the Digital Mystikz inspirations for a floating sort of halfstep pressure, and ‘AC13’ goes right back to roots in the old skool on a proper, Amiga-crafted acid breakbeat swerve beside the ’04-style DMZ flex of ‘Fragments’.
