Boomkat Product Review:
Propulsive, deep and rude electro-techno from Amsterdam’s Interstellar Funk, teamed with a charge of dark energy in the brilliant Convextion remix.
Caves Of Steel is surely the darkest number we’ve heard from Olf Van Elden a.k.a. Interstellar Funk, going dead hard on the Transllusion-style boom and bitterly squeaky electronics, before he meets Tape DJ’s Jeroen for the squashed and introspective journey of No Direction To Spacetown and fading out to the abstract oblivion of The Strips.
However, the real standout belongs to Gerard Hanson’s Convextion, who rewires Caves Of Steel with muscular, shifty bassline elaborations riveted into place with cold snares whilst looking skyward to a stunning lightshow of boreal pads.
