Boomkat Product Review:
New Ba Da Bing! acquisition Devon Williams called his album Carefree, although iTunes (or the CDDB or whatever) seems intent on satirising him, re-titling the record as 'Careerfree' when you insert the disc. Wow. That's pretty cold. Williams is clearly a bright talent for the future however, fashioning glorious, string-soaked croons like 'Please Be Patient' alongside urgent '80s-style alt. rockers like 'Stephanie City'. 'Elevator' meanwhile sounds a bit like something from the first Arcade Fire album, and there are further hints toward Owen Pallett's string sounds on the excellent 'A Truce'. Another great new voice in American indie rock from the label that brought you Beirut.
