Boomkat Product Review:
The Comfort Inn EP, dating back to 1997 (that's some eleven years, people) gets a digital release. Starting with 'Elwico', Cab Drivers establish a primal tech-house template, with a stern, thumping kick sound at the root. 'Earmuffs' is considerably more hard-hitting though, featuring some spongy distortion on the beats, before 'Sunday Best' reinstates a funkier feel, with clipped bassllines and big hand claps. Finally, 'Arcade (Edit)' sounds like it might have been programmed by an octopus, with a clattering drum pattern practically falling over itself at every turn.
