Boomkat Product Review:
Seemingly intent on casting the opposition as slack-jawed indie troglodytes, Interpol release yet another slice of intelligent rock that borrows as much from Talking Heads as it does Joy Division and Television. A startlingly lucid tale of unreciprocated love, 'C'mere' is almost belligerent in its lyrical content, demanding that the protagonist of the piece is mistaken before descending into unsettling stalker territory. As ever the band's fusion of taut rhythms and raffish guitar work is watertight, building up to a suitably downbeat finale. Backed up by a variety pack of remixes done by the band themselves, Interpol give a tantalising glimpse of their potential future directions (glitch, icy electro, dance floor stomps) and in doing so fashion some of the least tawdry 'indie remixes' for years.
