Boomkat Product Review:
The Chap's 'Proper Rock' is profoundly irritating, but you suspect that might be its raison d'etre, making it fairly inscrutable - particularly when it's this knowingly preposterous. The remainder of this electro-rock farce proves itself to be no less daft, but the combination of clever production and outrageous levels of silliness almost commute the EP's status from the ridiculous to the sublime. There are decent remixes thrown in too, a particular highlight being the Joakim offering. Only a so-bad-it's-bad cover of Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got To Do With It' crosses a line, but even that's not quite as irredeemably awful as it might want to be. Really good fun, seriously!
