Boomkat Product Review:
Out originally in 1982 around the same time as Jamaica Super Dub and sometime seen in England as a three-track 7" including Superstatic Magic Mystery, this single made public two of a handful of tracks cut with the Itopia band at Wackies by Joy Card - between her leaving home in Canada and enrolment in the US Army. Jah Son Invasion included short and singjay versions of Black Girl, appropriate seeing as this discomix was a big hit at the time in London, and played on the radio by the likes of Rodigan and Greg Edwards. Both sides are tough, edgy and dubby lovers' rock - Joy Card is confident and winning, Lloyd Barnes busy and thrilling throughout. Essential wackies music.
