Boomkat Product Review:
Seductive dancefloor alchemy from Optimo's Italian duo, Claudio Brioschi and Cristian Croce a.k.a. Boot & Tax. Cross-pollinating traces of Afro-beat, dub and European synth music for the good of the dancefloor, as exemplified in the skanking steppers lilt and wiggle of opener 'Good Fela', essentially this is a modern iteration of the Italian cosmic disco genre coined by Danielle Baldelli and Beppe Loda in the '70s/'80s. It's super-easy going and timelessly infectious (even JD Twitch's 80 year old step-mother has been rinsing it), weaving elements of spaghetti westerns ('red Guitar') alongside eastern-oriented electronics ('Sublime') and Teutonic disco ('Dancin'), and, most importantly, making it all effortlessly co-mingle.
