Boomkat Product Review:
Taking classic dub samples as its building bricks, this EP constructs a kind of alternative reimagining of dubstep ('sidestep', anyone?) that's more reliant on rootsy sound kits and trad echo chamber dynamics. 'One' is especially close to the genre's ancestry, intermingling grainy old loops with contemporary synth-driven low end presence, while 'Two' makes faithful use of old-school delay effects. The final tracks are far more connected to the pristine, computerized genre pieces we're all used to, but even here the production elevates the music back into creative relevance.
