Boomkat Product Review:
*Now On CD!* Oh yeah, this is something very special indeed. An Albatross have created something which manages to splice together heavy, technical grindcore and well… prog. Yep, you heard it right – the album opens with some Wakeman or Emerson inspired noodling organ work before launching into the more obvious riffage and screams, and then peppers it inbetween aforementioned riffage liberally across the album. Quite a marriage too, if you’re going to do something odd, you may as well go balls out with it, and An Albatross have done exactly that. It’s not a listening experience that will give everyone the utmost pleasure, but it really does it for me at the moment – if you like Lightning Bolt or Napalm Death, imagine both of these bands jamming with Yes… this might give you some indication of what to expect when you pummel your ear drums with Blessphemy. Awesome.
