Boomkat Product Review:
Magazine swoop on new German production unit, Jaures, who they’ve been keeping a beady on, for 12”s of rudely functional yet abstract, asymmetric techno-not-techno.
These are really strong club tracks, some of the label’s best since Barnt’s ITWTWBF (2014) 12”, with the A-side, Blanke Helle cutting a tumultuous line of staggered drums and sub bass wobbles haunted by swimming pool ambience and grasping for elusive peaks of early ‘90s techno-trance pads. We can almost guarantee this will sound stellar with a belly full of pills (as just as good without, TBF).
Flipside, Volto Notturno (qqq b. jurnata) harnesses a cracking sort of electro mutation deep fried in hyper avian chirrups and a choir of portentous angels, with the ambient passage of KL Drohl left for you to contemplate what the fuck just happened.
