Boomkat Product Review:
René Audiard returns to New York's ever-interesting Blank Slate label with two extended tech-house trippers. Since René's last 12" the label has established itself as one of the more wayward tech-house labels out there, mixing the minimalist production values of classic Perlon with a fresh palette of unique, worldly tones. Following Düve's exotic, non-formulaic 'Blank Slate 005', this 12" stokes that textured tribal percussion on the Villalobos-like 'Cywilizacja Pt. 2' to fine effect, while the haunting B-side 'Lamia' meshes traditional song with moody industrial/wave bass and sprung tech-house rhythms with compelling results. Tipped!
