Boomkat Product Review:
Captivating, near-apocalyptic works for synth and guitar from the Sun City Girl and his buddy. We were only recently bowled over by SRB's 'Gravity Polarity Generator' LP and we're inclined to say the same about this one. It's the prominent inclusion of doomy synth and electro-acoustic atmospheres that really pushes this into crucial listening territory, whether dominating the scene on the astounding 'Sambhogakaya', lining the stygian passage of 'Zung ngag' or blooming the byzantine shapes and spaces of 'Thigle'. Of course the guitar is still integral to the album's atmosphere, coming off like that beautiful Smegma & Jozef Van Wissem LP gone eastwards on the opening 'Dharmakaya' or hinting at a KTL-esque feel on 'Semde', but it's those sounds on 'Sambhogakaya' that coulda been on Biosphere's 'Substrata' or some Coil bit, or the mighty, Muslimgauze-like roil and chant of 'Nirmanakaya' and 'Upadesa' that place this in the unmissable category. Huge recommendation to disciples of Sunn 0))), Earth, Raime, Bryn Jones, X-TG.
