Berghain 04: Ben Klock
Ben Klock is the latest in line for the controls at Berghain, presenting a very healthy 19 track selection for Ostgut Ton. He follows in the hallowed footsteps of André Galluzzi, Marcel Dettmann and Len Faki to give his own perception of the sound he's been so integral to. Starting with one of our personal faves, 154's 'Apricot' from the 'Strike' LP is always a good look, and then following it with an exclusive Dettmann mix of Junior Boys' 'Work' has definitely got us rapt for the session. The exclusives continue to stream in, from Martyn's swinging 'Mini Luv' to a demented 'The Long Life' killer from Levon Vincent and a career highlight from Kevin Gorman on '7am Stepper' (soon to be released on a Berghain 04 sampler 12"). Klock spices the selection with a handful of his own tracks; the drowsy trancejacker 'Compression Session 1', a sophisticated edit of B. Moeller's 'Dirt' and his own crafty swinger 'Elfin Flight'. In between , there's heavyweight housers from Tyree on 'Nuthin Wrong', Roman Lindau's epic 'Keppra' and more from DVS1, Rolando, Ruskin and Jonas Kopp. Stylishly effective dancing gear all the way.
