Boomkat Product Review:
Lowlands loons, PRR! PRR! spit out eight cuts of demented DJ tackle for the hooligan ravers and Clarissa Explains It All fans courtesy of Cloarec and Coquelin and their pals in disguise, including Low Jack as B-Ball Joints.
Freakish from whatever angle, the Battle Break set twysts up the kinda styles you don’t hear every day, probably best suited to the most open-minded, rave-nous and ductile dancefloors/party/warehouses.
Low Jack boots off the session under the B-Ball Joints moniker with a hard-stepping, fizzy bomb sounding like a roguish sibling of Haswell and Powell’s, and the multi-monikered Bischepiehls (a.k.a. Carpet Cunt Tango Ensemble) wigs out with the Clarissa… theme-sampling screwball Dancemix 2016 up next to a wonky carousel from the Venderstrooik trio.
Flipside, we’re particularly partial to the hardstyle romp of Evil Grimace’s 3 Litres, and the horror acid slug of Don’t Lol by L.A.A.M., both sandwiching a pair of cut-up sample collages for the most wayward scratch DJs.
It takes a special kind of nutter to get on with these; know yourself!
