Boomkat Product Review:
Peachy lead single from JB's forthcoming 'It's All True' album, including a lush remix from The Field. 'Banana Ripple' is the kind of instantly gratifying delicacy that made folk fall madly in love with the group circa 'Last Exit', but streamlined with the disco finesse of their follow-up albums. Maybe it's the dreamy sense of space, or maybe it's the slightly camp joy of Jeremy Greenspan's vocal, but whatever it is, this has just put a silly big grin on our mugs. Following in the footsteps of Carl Craig's classic Junior Boys remixes, The Field rearranges the original nine minutes of teasing guitar, synth and disco claps into a more contemporary dancefloor moire, the vocals largely reduced to a rhythmic blur of glossolalia and the peaks trance-amped for maximum potential. You're sure to hear both of these tracks a lot this summer.
