Boomkat Product Review:
Downtempo veteran Kelpe is back with another charming plate of squashed disco following the endearingly weird but surprisingly upbeat 'I Felt Fuzzy EP'. We've banged on about him before, so you know the drill, but this might be Kel McKeown's most striking set to date, offsetting his passion for razor-sharp analogue basses with clattering rhythms and the kind of blunted midnight disco pulse you wouldn't find out of place on a Floating Points record. There's even a more overt retro reference with the slick 606 'n triangle wave blur of 'City' that sounds something like a 'Streetsounds' comp played at the wrong speed, which just can't be a bad thing right?
