Boomkat Product Review:
Geir Jenssen aka Biosphere's latest is possibly his finest recording to date. 'Autour de la Lune' is an audio realisation of Jules Verne's eighteenth century story 'De la Terre à la Lune', a vivid imagination of the first ever manned space flight, some ninety years prior to Mr Gagarin's heroic exploits. This 74 minite, nine movement electronic symphony takes in tones, radar blips, and serenic drones feel that all feel like they were recorded in space. Such is the floaty dreamlike magic of the music realised in the initial 21 minute piece 'Translation'. Elsewhere scrambled communication is heard, emotions are twisted, all hope is lost then miraculously life is regained. Such is the majesty of this recording you could very easily transplant parts into the outer space sequences in Kubrick's '2001'. Fantastic.
