Boomkat Product Review:
This amazing compilation draws from the estimable back catalogue of Les Disques Crepuscule, as part of LTM Recordings' Auteur Labels series. The impressive list of artists is a pretty comprehensive reflection of the influential Belgian label's roster, covering the releases between 1980-1984, and featuring contributions from the likes of Michael Nyman, Bill Nelson, The Durutti Column, Josef K and The Pale Fountains among many others. In amongst those more enduring names you'll find great contributions from the likes of Mikado (whose sultry 'Par Hazard' is a delightful slice of electro pop), some weird new wave lounge music from The French Impressionists, great, atmospheric spoken word krautrock from Thick Pigeon and some exceptionally odd gipsy funk rock courtesy of Tuxedomoon via 'Noinotchka'. As with the other Auteur Labels releases, this disc comes remastered and packaged with a label history (written by Frank Brinkhuis) together with interviews and archive images. Essential purchase.
