Boomkat Product Review:
Anthony Rother corrals his motley crew of MDMA powered techno cyber punk mates for a mix on his Datapunk imprint. The first track 'When The Sun Goes Down' by Rother himself, but here remixed by UR, is a curious balance of snotty Euro techno vocals and soul driven Detroit techno, which blends nicely with Stephan Bodzin's soft trancer 'Bremen-Ost', onto some hi-end digital manipulations from Locodice 'Consequently Eccentric and Delicate', Patrick Zigon's 'Only She Knows' and through a gmaut of tracks and collaborations from Rother himself. There's 'Digital vision' from his recent 'Beuys Von Telekraft' CD, his EBM electro flavoured effort with Hell on 'Bodyfarm', and a face off with Sven Vath on 'S'Krankt'. The mix sticks with the seedy and minimal techno vibe on more gear from Pig & Dan, Broombeck and Frank Kusserow to round off a neatly executed mix.
