Boomkat Product Review:
To say we’ve been waiting for this one would be a grave understatement; at long last Blackest Ever Black’s hugely intriguing and so-far-anonymous project breaks its silence with an enchanting follow-up to their debut; an outta-the-blue 10” in 2014 which has left us guessing ever since.
Taken from their sublime debut album, Wreck His Days, this 8 minute lead single is a creamy kosmische dream sequence of chiming, Eno-esque ambient synth tones and Canterbury choral harmonies that coaxes the listener into a beautifully utopian headspace.
It actually sounds little like the sweeping dub dimensions of their debut 10”, but retains that slowly unfurling, patient pace and charm in abundance. We can assure you the album is every bit as strong as this.
