Boomkat Product Review:
Shy British dream-pop label, Enraptured Records round up nearly 20 years of tracks by 5 related projects that were broadcast on the radio from 1993 to 2013. In chronological order, it strokes the soft pink underbelly of British indie-pop, folk and electronica thru tracks by the Isan-related Landshipping among releases for Awkward Silence Recordings, Pillarbox Red and among others.
Variously focussed on the work of John Brenton, Rhys Williams, and Anthony Harding with help from Simon Poole, Philip L Holmes, Antony Ryan, Robin Saville (Isan) and Dorry Brenton, 'AM FM etc' presents a reverb-soaked bubble bath for fragile heads, summing up a most poignant sliver of lower case yet plangent '90s and '00s dream-pop.
If you aren't melting by the first strums, dry drum machine and impenetrably gauzy vox of Southville's 'Inside and Out' (1993) you're probably not going to like the rest but, you may well catch yourself singing along to melodies you've never heard before as though they're you're old favourite, or maybe they're rekindling an old feeling you haven't felt in a long time. Any way, you'll either love or hate this compilation. For what's it's worth; we love it.
