Boomkat Product Review:
Mr. Oizo returns to Ed Banger’s bosom with a bouquet of freaky crackers sporting guest spots from Peaches, Skrillex, Siriusmo, Mocky and Charli XCX; all produced and recorded in Los Angeles, where he’s spent the last few years shooting movies with the likes of Eric Wareheim and Marilyn Manson.
To put it plainly, the party is not left wanting from All Wet; its 15 tracks are all life and soul, sloshing from hacked up boogie attacks to suave swagger via rave-bitten electro slingshots practically every 2 minutes, as no track is left longer than it needs.
Of course, it’s going to attract a lot of attention to the relatively reserved Skrillex collaboration, End Of The World, which is mercifully shy on shite EDM but high on the big room rave vibes. Although, if we’re to pick favourites, the Charli XCX link-up, Hand In The Fire is a proper dance-pop bruiser, and we can't shift the feeling that there’s some trace of Errorsmith in the killer, quicksilver dynamics of Goulag Drums.
OK there’s no Flat Beat, but the cover art nod is pretty cute.
