Boomkat Product Review:
The title track on the 'All My Love' EP will undoubtedly be familiar to some through its inclusion on the Neo Ouija compilation 'Vestibule and Separate'. If you did hear it there, the good news is it's still as good as you remember. If you didn't, have you got a treat in store. Rob Morris began recording in his teens, favouring hard breakbeat but, as he discovered electronica and post-rock, his own music started to reflect this mellowing of taste and it is here that 'All My Love' currently finds him. A beautiful union of coldwater synths, axe-wielding bass, rustling beats and ethereal vocals, 'All My Love' is a stunning slice of downbeat electronica which displays a drifting proclivity that mirrors Sigur Ros in more electronic form. Backed up by 'All My Lovers', which belies his more rough hewn roots, and the analogue rumblings of 'Nova Scotia', Rod has produced a lovely EP which will hopefully indicate a rich creative seam has been struck ahead of his forthcoming debut album.
