Boomkat Product Review:
Planet Mu continue their excellent run of form with a stunning future funk thrust from Swindle. Mu heads will probably recognise his name from the brutal remix of Terror Danjah's 'Sidechain' while Grime fans will be very aware of his ubiquity in the sets of Elijah & Butterz, Logan Sama and Spyro and production work for Mutya Buena (the O.G Sugababe), Roll Deep and Chipmunk. With 'Airmiles' he presents four full strength instrumentals with a unique grasp of classic funk, we're talking Quincey Jones and George Benson, with electrified 2010 grime styles, essentially Joker meets Terror Danjah on a hot summer day in South London. The title track sends dive-bombing synths over 140 GrimFunk syncopations while 'Daredevil' shows all the mid-range rave mutants how to properly twist it out. Fans of everything from Clipz' Redlight project to Wiley and Lil Silva should be checking this!
