Boomkat Product Review:
Berlin techno don Pacou digs deep for the latest Cache release featuring four varied and killer floor wreckers made to test dancers at his residency in Tresor. Starting from a classic, Pacou turns to Rob Hood functions for inspiration on 'Drift' with sinister synthlines rippling into place over slinky machine tooled rhythms, before 'Multipass Remix' takes the killer cut from his 'Tangent' 12" and retools it with mean Waldorf wave samples and a skipping dose of Tresor style techno funk. 'Bounce' looks to Chicago and Green Velvet for ideas and returns with a smart jacking floor punisher made uneasy by darker Berlin overtones leaving 'Departure' to keep it going for the last feet on the floor with tripping synthlines and a crafty Millsian shuffle. If you're into no frills techno classicism or Mills, Hood, Pendle Coven or Norman Nodge this one's especially for you. Tip!
