Boomkat Product Review:
Special astral house trips by ascendant New Yorker, Joey Anderson, backed with Vakula remix. Newly minted LA label, Avenue 66 find Joey Anderson operating at the limits of house and techno withs stunning bass throb and writhing, acidic synth on 'Above The Cherry Moon' leavened only by Ebony Ugo's angelic coos and mystic croon. By the breakdown you'll be hypnotised, and the arrival of fizzing, shooting star claps and milky synthlines will grip the 'floor hard. It must be said, Rashad Becker's mastering here really brings the tune into the next dimension. Flipside Vakula does his warm and woozy thing with the same track, whilst 'Auset' sends off with a fierce piece of modulating techno-house abstraction. Brilliant 12", if only for that A-side.
