Swedish techno mutants HSXCHCXCXHS (FKA SHXCXCHCXSH) weave stuttering vocals into their frazzled matrix.
Following suit with the increasingly deranged style of the duo’s ‘OUFOUFOF’ album, they spit out seven gobs of spirit-gnawing rhythmic noise flecked with sawn-off syllables and all manner of possessed moans.
The dancefloor is barely even a concern for much of ‘AÅÄ.’ Their lop-sided constructions are perhaps more mutably purposed for whatever the fuck it is you do with misshapen, grungy electronic music. Of course, one could find their groove in the cranky lurch and gasping vox of ‘BUN’ and ‘HEM’, the molasses wade of ‘AHE’, or the convulsive bass burps of ‘UAE’. But when held in context of their more wantonly abstract crushers such as ‘EHM’ and the hypnotic churn of ‘AOO’ the set becomes freakier and quite a strange, druggy experience that may well place knock listeners onto their seat.
