Boomkat Product Review:
Peter Van Hoesen and Yves De Mey's Sendai duo transmit their most obtuse, challenging, yet compelling sonic architectures to date on 2nd album, 'A Smaller Divide'. Crafted remotely between their respective bases in Antwerp and Berlin, plus4 the odd jam session, they fluidly communicate jarring, splintered digital scree and complex patterns woven with dynamic sounds modelled from De Mey's modular synthesiser. Across a sheer topography of eleven parts, crushing, arrhythmic tangles of Autechrian complexity give way to passages of intense, rolling techno and industrial pads evoking imagery of impossible physical structures and sci-fi panoramas.
