Boomkat Product Review:
3rd EP of mutant new beta killlllllers from Shanghai’s Tzusing in as many years for L.I.E.S.
The latest, sturdiest in L.I.E.S. summer ’16 campaign, A Name out of Place Pt. III really sets Tzusing apart from the crowd with a unique take on cusp-of-the-’90s dance music, before it all became this or that; when it was in flux between breakbeats, EBM, acid house and techno sub genii.
We’re most struck by the A-side’s syncretic breakbeat zinger, Face of Electric, which sounds something like White House White in a duel with Frankie Bones, and the others are dead strong too, coming with a proto-PCP/skizzo acid vibe in Emotional Eater, and a proper, strongback industrial canter in R.
Sick darkroom dance music. Right up our alley.
