Boomkat Product Review:
This marvellous Rothko retrospective comes in an extremely limited edition, with only 300 having been made. The disc comes housed in cardboard box packaging with one or two bonus treats enclosed (there's what appears to be a signed note from Mark Beazley himself and something secreted away in a brown paper envelope - a badge, mayhap?). The tracklist includes old favourites and tracks that have previously only been available on vinyl or on small-run compilation albums, with the odd bit of unreleased material thrown into the mix. In terms of the band's timeline, the selected songs stretch from Rothko's beginnings in 1997 right up to 2006, and the 20-track-strong tracklist flows together beautifully. A great document of a band who hopefully still have plenty of life in them.
