Boomkat Product Review:
The artist also known as Gultskra Artikler and Stud returns to his Pixelord moniker for another bumper set of bonkers IDM that somehow fuses post-AFX tweaky electronix with big-room trance and rave.
Prolific Russian producer Alexey Devyanin has an impressive catalog of releases at this point. Not only does he co-run the Hyperboloid imprint, but he releases a good proportion of the music on it. This latest set continues his ongoing flex, welding disparate electronic styles together with the comedic grace of µ-ziq and the engineering skill of EPROM. 'NFT Acid' is an early highlight, poking fun at the dominant tech-art phenomenon with scorching hypersaw synths and a hyperactive beat that wouldn't be out of place on "Syro".
Elsewhere, 'Tron' explores a harder sound, absorbing elements of techstep but softening the edges with fluffy pads. On '90s', he returns to the trance sound with a track that can't help but bring to mind legendary Russian duo t.A.T.u's 'All The Things She Said'. Not bad at all.
