Boomkat Product Review:
Few bonafide releases sport the word 'Demo' on their sleeve, but this EP is in fact an un-mastered, (self-professed) roughly mixed affair. Don't let that extinguish your interest in Nico Teen's work however, the Israeli artist deals in miniature, quite lo-fi electronic songs that by turns bring to mind Broadcast ('Bring It Home') or the early Rephlex output of Ensemble ('The Guessing Game'). In any case these all too brief compositions carry a considerable charm, feeling like loose electronic doodlings more than regular productions, but when Ms. Teen fires up her cheap 'n' cheerful Casio drum pad on 'True Desire' it doesn't sound like an exercise in kitsch - as so often these things tend to - but rather a resourceful use of low rent electronics. good stuff.
