Boomkat Product Review:
**Edition of 300** '1812' is an immersive audiovisual work by intrepid Spanish director and visual artist Carlos Casas. It's his third audiovisual work released via the Von archives, following the densely psychedelic 'Choir' and engrossing 'Vezdekhod' collaborations with Nico Vascellari and Prurient. Taking the as yet unparalleled vision of Sergey Bondarchuk's staggering and hugely influential 1967 film rendition of Lev Tolstoy's classic 'War & Peace' novel, Casas annihilates and implodes the narrative with an impenetrable and multi-layered collage intending to redress the way we perceive film and push our notion of audiovisual sensations to heady, surreal and near-psychedelic levels. We can almost guarantee that you've rarely seen anything which sustains the intensity and psychedelic impact quite like it.
