Back in stock! Ahead of his hotly anticipated Hyperdub release, Clandestine Cultivations returns with this morose stepper from Darkstar. 'Round Ours' employs the funereal tones of a bowed cello, harpsichord and organ to create a dubstep experience a million miles removed from that of DMZ or anything on Tempa. 'Maven' continues the morose trip with a succulently maudlin Oud giving way to a organ riding skanker like Jackie Mittoo on smack, or something. 'Dunhill riddem' rounds out this exceedingly different package with another swift diversion into slightly more upbeat and snappy garage rhythms, yet still held nearly six feet under by the severely depressed chord sequence glooming it up overhead, definitely one for giving it the thousand yard stare while you thoughtfully pull back on your posh bine. But seriously, it's a bit of kilter this one, primed for darkstyle mixtapes and late night play... Ace.
