Brand new 10" from the in-form Bunker electrodisco offshoot Creme Organization, after four must have twelves. Keyo Labs hail from Tokyo, though their inspirations are clearly European. This is the new wave of discofutures, arpeggiated bass under 4/4 kicks and claps, the vocal "striding through the night.." performs in the same way as Detroit's calculated misuse of Europop, all whispering and faux androgynous whiteness. Strings that could be classic Detroit, disco style tom drums powpowing around the beat, and grooving bass throughout. The flip has 3 tracks in marked contrast, a sinister minimal killer, not fierce but dark in execution and feel, strings add an air of creeping menace, well spooky, into a short disco mixing tool. Lastly, and perhaps strongest of all, a melodic vocodered houser with a late summer feel, a good builder and a great listen. Looping grooves for hip shaking fashionistas. On the money once again.
