**Edition of 500** Rescued from millenial Techno oblivion, a 2nd LP of timelessly futuristic and evocative electronica by the Rephlex and Cybotron-affiliated Photodementia duo. 'Fig 0.4' was written by original unit member Victor Beaudet with Newcastle-born, then Vancouver-based Ellen O'Maley shortly after he wrote the first Photodementia record with Bernard Davies. Like the first, it bears strong resemblance to classic Dopplereffekt and records by Plaid or UR from that era, cycling between seven tracks of sinister, funked-up machine music with a lightness of touch and infectiously danceable quality taking in creepy EBM, snappy, uptempo flexers and low-slung sci-fi mystery.
