kim deal - Walking With A Killer
Pixies/Breeders maverick Kim Deal drops her excellent solo debut after appearing at the Shellac curated ATP, and it's as beguiling a prospect as you'd expect. The title track sounds like a more sombre revision of "Drivin' On 9', with that warm and blistered bass sound underpinning everything with that unquantifiable quality that basically makes everything Kim touches so hard to define and so compelling. "Dirty Hessians" on the flip is a more propulsive instrumental complete with some nifty drum edits. We don't have many of these = treat yourself while you can.
