Vinyl mastered by Lupo at D&M** In swift succession to his excellent Vallens 12", Barn Owl Jon Porras presents his third solo side under his birth name. Inspired by a book on the San Francisco Tape Music Centre, Jon creates expansive atmospheres from slowed down tape manipulated with analogue FX to complement the hazy grain and shapes of his signature, plangent guitar strokes. Between the two he opens a ghostly space where the swirling resonance and distorted infidelities create their own phantom figures in a sort of dialogue with the other side, if you will. The mood throughout is thoroughly despondent and detached, with a devotional quality bound to resonate deeply with followers of his solo works as Elm and with Barn Owl.
