nautic - Fresh Eyes
Dockside dreampop from Bullion, Young Turk's Tic Zogson and Blue Roses' Laura Groves. A-side 'Fresh Eyes' features proper adult contemporary sax, Durutti Column-esque guitar strokes and even a bleedin' sitar, yet somehow tacks just clear into the bay of acceptability thanks to Bullion's lovely vocal at the end. B-side 'Fixxx' keeps the mood Balearic, lush, with swooning guitars and sparsely synched drums and bass knitting with Laura Grove's harmonised vocal in a manner reminding of early Junior Boys. Could have left that violin outro in the studio, though.
