elkat & moleskin - Hurt
Leeds-based duo Elkat & Moleskin make their debut bassbin incision with 'Hurt', backed by Optimum and Donga & Blake remixes. The first move 'Hurt' summons the sampled spirit of Aaliyah into a coolly reserved groove cut from crisp drums and rolling half-speed bass for the R&B steppers. Remixing on the flipside, Ikonika's pal Optimum isolates and runs with the more roadwise elements, resulting in what could be a smart UK Rap instrumental, while Donga & Blake's Ruff Dub takes it back to '96 for a fruitier House romp. Support from Hackman, WNCL, and LHF.
